Did you all know that Type 3's will be the featured car at the All Air-Cooled Gathering in Flanders NJ this year? Always a big turnout, last year we had 325 cars [all air-cooled]. A fantastic venue, the Swim and Sport Club of Flanders is a German Social Club so the club house, which is located on the show field, has a full kitchen and bar [read great bratwurst and Beer]. The CJVWS has arranged for near perfect weather so you can hardly ask for more. Talk to anyone who has been to the event and you'll hear how great it is. Even Alex, Type 3 guru and the owner of ISP in California, is coming out for the event. For Type 3 owners, this is one event not to miss. There will be special parking for all Type 3's [right up front], and we'll have a special gift given out to all type 3 owners who bring their cars out.

Check out theSamba thread for more info and buzz about the event

Let's try to make this the biggest Type 3 turnout in the northeast!

just got done with the tune up the squareback. Jeff and Central Jersey VW society run probably one of the best VW shows on the east coast. Cars are showing up from all over the east. Really nice venue- always nice trophies (I'm pissed I missed out on that framed photo of the early bug years ago) But I am definitely there this sunday! _________________ John

I guess the type 3 crowd is secretive. I just need to fuel them up, but the notch and the square look good to go. They'll be up on Sunday. _________________ I will never lie, but sometimes the truth changes.

				| I'm going to the show tomorrow, it is a two hour drive each way. My Square is still in pieces but I'm determined to have it completed in time for the Invasion in New York next summer. My car is painted, cut and polished, just needs re-assembly. I have most of what I need for it including a new F.I. Harness from JMSkater. Mine is a factory sunroof car and has / will have A/C and an Eberspacher gas heater. I heard Alex from ISP West will be at the show, I'd like to run into him. |

Not exactly. But it is an 8 to 10 hour drive (1 way) for me, plus a hotel. I'm still working on getting caught up around here after being out of town for 2 weeks.

Mike, are you going to the Invasion next year?? I'm pretty sure I'll be there. I just have to figure out what I'm driving to it. _________________ Bob 65 Notch S with Sunroof

				| Went to the show today. Lots of Type 3's there. The entire show was good. Even got to see a 73 Super that I bought in 94, restored on 2004 and sold in 2012. Was surprised to see it there! Got to talk to Alex from ISP West and got some questions answered. Looking forward to Invasion 2014! |

My count was 18 type 3s in attendance. Mostly squares, close numbers on notches and fastys, and 1 really nice t3 Ghia. Really nice to see them together. I got to have breakfast with Alex. He's been across the country quite a few times in his square this year. He definately wins the longest traveled type 3 at the show! _________________ I will never lie, but sometimes the truth changes.

I wasn't able to go to this one, but in general I've found the shows in the NY/NJ/CT area to be hit or miss, and when they miss, it's a real drag. |

This show is one not to miss. Been going on since 2005, great location, always nice cars to see, and only aircooled stuff (there may be some Corvairs and Porsches and the odd 2CV or something like that too.) Check the photos and feedback in the show thread. _________________ I will never lie, but sometimes the truth changes.

You've never been to this show then. It's always a hit, the best in the Northeast and probably one of the best on the east coast. Next year is the 10th anniversary, it's gonna be epic.
