Not much of a recommendation there Mr. Firing order..
But.. the history is noteworthy... on Route 66.. certainly worth a stop IMO.
Ok to one may be good to another.. ... or.. ..bad to another.

It just sounds funny. I'd eat it with any noodle, I like that stuff. I think the macaroni is a west coast thing. That's how my mom made it. However, I will use whatever I have in the pantry at the time when we make that at out house. _________________ Prosit!

I've read all 20 pages and I'm hungry! Here's my list in no particular order:
Dal Rae
9023 Washington Blvd
Pico Rivera CA 90660
562-949-2444
Expensive but the ambiance and padded booths make you feel like Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin are at the bar with you, great food
Acme Oyster House
724 Iberville St
New Orleans LA 70130
504-522-5973
sit at the bar so they can shuck your oysters right in front of you, my favorite spot in NO besides Commander's Palace and Antoine's
Cedar Glen Malt Shop
28125 Hook Creek Rd
Lake Arrowhead CA 92521
909-485-1926
Tiny old shop from the 40's-50's, all the burgers are named after cars and the the malts are amazing
Burrells BBQ
305 Hesperia
Santa Ana CA 92703
714-547-7441
the restaurant is the back of a house in a residential area, people wait in line to get some
Zena's Mediterranean
2094 N Tustin Ave Ste C2
Orange CA 92865
My wife's family is Lebanese and this is the closest to home cooking we have found
Wing's Cafe Fullerton Municipal Airport
4011 W Commonwealth Ave
Fullerton CA 92833
714-738-6323
great for breakfast and you can watch the places land as you eat (I think you can hear the control tower as well)
Bob's Big Boy
7447 Firestone Blvd
Downey CA 90241
562-928-2627
yes they are are a chain but this one moved into the location that was Harvey's back in the 50s-90s and still has service in the parking lot and a car show every Wednesday night
Pink's Hot Dogs
709 N La Brea Blvd
LA CA 90038
323-931-4223
yes they are a chain but this is the one that started it all
Tommy's
2575 W Beverly Blvd/Rampart
LA CA 90057
213-389-9060
Yes they are a chain but this is the one that started it, i was at USC way back when and everyone made their midnight runs for burgers there, not much has changed |

Got an e-mail from Google recently that somebody was requesting access to this spreadsheet. Figured that meant that this thread had gotten bumped, but doesn't look like it. Wonder how somebody found it. _________________ -Andrew |

My son took us to a great lil fish shack in Albany NY
Ted's Fish Fry
203 Wolf Rd, Albany, NY 12205
Seems to be a local upstate NY family business with a few locations around Albany
Great fresh fried fish. Not a grease pit.
The Clam Chowders...are... out of bounds.
Both the New England and Manhattan are scratch made in house..

Alright, a couple of places I discovered seven years ago when moving from SoCal to Central Florida.
Lubbock, TX: Cast Iron Grill for pie and chicken fried steak; served in that order.
Port Allen, LA: Cou-yon's for their catfish etouffee (you can thank me later). |
