All the vendors have the Beetle one which is a G55 jet, while 99% of type 3s need a G50 idle jet for the PDSITs, I have regular jets in there right now, but I was wondering if anyone makes them?

yeah many of them don't have any markings- esp. the later "plunger" style ones.

Look at this one

http://www.thesamba.com/vw/classifieds/detail.php?id=1587370

it appears to have 12v and "50" stamped on it...

You also need to check that the solenoid does not hit the acc pump cover. As some solenoids are not long enough for pdsit.

I'm helping a friend look for them same solenoid -- g50 for twin 32PDSITs on his 68 T3.

Have only come across g45 and g55. What would the impact be of running either one of them instead?

Slightly richer or leaner idle?

Can the g45 be drilled to g50?

We just robbed a solenoid off of a Beetle engine & it worked fine on my '67 square dual Solex's.
We didn't spend months searching for the absolutely correct solenoid!

There are old style electric cut off solenoids that are two piece and the jet part is removable and I suppose one could ream it out..I have never reamed idle jets. The fixed idle jets (non solenoid type) have a check ball and cannot be drilled out. I have all types and can add some pictures for reference later on.

*EDIT

look at this ad

https://www.thesamba.com/vw/classifieds/detail.php?id=2038881

the silver ones are two piece and the jets can be swapped. the goldish colored pair are fixed and cannot be swapped. He appears to have 6v .50's and you could take the jets from those and put them on a 12v solenoid with ease.

I would just run a .55 myself and have had to go up jets sizes on pretty much all my cars due to crap fuels available these days perhaps

good luck!

Good point on today's fuels. Back when I ran the electro magnetic valves, I had g45's in mine, but back then the fuel was better. I'm running mechanical g50's in mine on the same carbs.
