Good for shore AC, not strong enough for vehicle moving AC by a factor of 3x , roughly _________________ .ssS! |

This would be great to take the heat/humidity down before sleeping on a hot summer night. |
Wonder how long 280 AH would run it if you just bring the temp down to “minimum sleepable”? What is that temp? Is it dependent upon humidity? (….sorry for clueless westerner Q )
A depleted 280 AH is some heavy lifting for an alternator. Ya gotta drive some hours the next day. I’m using 50A, thats 5.5 hours driving at least. Anyone in the “280 club” better delete that front transaxle conduit…..(and provide proper eqpt grounding instead). _________________

the AC is 5100 BTU at full chooch. all the run times... 7-14 hrs depending upon battery are in ECO mode. the pictured underbelly battery is NOT what they are basing those numbers on. the run times are based on the Delta 2 or Delta MAX batteries, which are close to the size of the unit itself.
here's a great real-world review of it with wattage, temperature, and humidity measurements compared to a 5k BTU window unit:
https://diysolarforum.com/threads/ecoflow-wave-2-t...nit.66703/
take away statement... "ECO mode is worthless unless you’re in a dry desert environment without any humidity." _________________ -dan

The biggest thing that kills this to me is hot walls and furniture.
If you do not have a good working AC then your Vanagon body and cabinets are going to be whatever the outside temp is. Pull into campsite and crank this ECO Cool up expecting instant coldness and your not going to get it until the radiating heat from the woodwork and metal is cooled down. Not to mention the heat coming up through the engine compartment.
If your AC is working and your interior is cooler after running it all day long then you have a better chance of dreamy bliss!
Just my take on radient heat since I don't have AC! 🥵🥵🥵 _________________ This free advice is worth exactly what you paid for it.

This is where an engine compartment cooling fan would be nice. Getting rid of the heat buildup would help cool off the camper.
I've been looking into adding one to my Zetec conversion since there's a bit of extra heat coming off the exhaust setup. A small thermostatically controlled marine type fan blowing hot air out the back through an opening by the passenger taillight is what I have in mind. The idea being this will exhaust the heat after stopping for the night.
I saw one installed on a really nice Syncro Dehler with Bostig conversion but I didn't get a chance to talk to the owner. _________________ Currently:

Or space the license plate so it doesn't fully close and add a fan to the back of the door. Or add a 120mm computer fan to blow air up the side air vents. _________________ '87 Syncro

adding an 1inch (25mm) air gap 'false floor' between the back cushion and the engine lid will help the cushion NOT absorb the engine bay heat.
even if it's just a spacer you remove/flatten once you get to camp.. _________________

a fan will only remove convective heat. you've got a 300lb block of radiant heat warming the underside of the bed. sure, a fan will cool the engine somewhat faster and that in turn will reduce radiant heat but there are very small returns.
best to just prop the mattress up slightly for 2 hours, let the deck metal cool quickly as the engine cools without capturing heat in the 3" of foam + bedding and have a drink. _________________ -dan

It's nice in the winter though _________________ 83.5 Westy with Subaru 2.5, 4 spd manual, center seat, COLD A/C on 134a!, Winter camp heated with an Espar B4 gasoline furnace
