I have an aftermarket stereo I’d like to in my squareback. I’m trying to find something that would mount under the dash. Been searching forever and have had no luck. I’ve thought about just making a bracket but I don’t necessarily have the tools to move metal like that. Any ideas? I’d be willing to purchase if anyone has something that works.

simple solution and a win win...build a partial tray see the photos and and feel free to ask about the details You can then mount the stereo below it. My stereo is mounted to the dash.

I bought one like that from the Samba classifieds for 15 bucks. It was already modified, so I was able to install my Pioneer Super tuner 3 w/CD player. Worked great for me. It didn't take long to find it either. Wink

There's an original plastic version like that that takes a "clip in" style late Beetle radio too.

Yup. In my case I wanted a metal one that was already butchered, so I wouldn't feel bad about hacking it to fit the radio. Wink
