Hi, I have two Type 1 transmissions I want to get some basic information on. What years they were built and their final drive ratios.

#1- AT 23083
#2- AT 02073

In the past I've been able to find transmission info but don't remember where. That seems to be one of the problems with getting old!
Thanks in advance for your help.

August 23, 1973, and July 2, 1973.
They were both built with a 3.875:1 R&P.

Bruce and Clockworkbox,

Bruce, The information you gave me on those two Type 1 transmissions, was exactly what I was looking for. Thank you!

Clockworkbox, The links to the two threads you gave me are great. I had no idea that VW had that many different transmissions and applications. Thank you!

Bill,
