				| Gary Miller of Miller FI has come up with a way to install synchro locker into an 002 or 091 tranny. He uses this in his own personal rail, and he says it is well worth it. If you would be willing to buy one of these trannies with a synchro locker, please PM or email me. Gary told me that he is too busy to work on it now, but if enough people willing to buy the first batch, he would turn his prototype into something workable. He had to modify everything himself, but he can have them built by a local tranny shop if there is enough interest. Just drop me an email or PM if you are interested.

				| Welding a boss on the 002 or 091 trans case is pretty straightforward. But the Syncro locking diff is just a cast iron diff. Not bulletproof by any means. | |

Actually, Gary did more than just that. He machined the case and desgined a mechanism to engage the locker. By no means will this be bulletproof, but right now it is about the only viable option for someone wanting a locker in their bus tranny.

				| I think the big issue for a lot of people will be cost. Any idea of how much $$$? _________________

				| I think Gary said it would be under $800. However, there were only 1 or 2 people that ever contacted me about it, so it hasn't ever gotten anywhere. Someone could rig it up themselves, if they had some experiece working on trannys, diffs, lockers, etc. To be honest, I'd love to have one for my rail, but $800 would get a lot of other upgrades that would be more rewarding than a locking diff.

 1310 V.W. IRS Bus or Vanagan 2-Pinion $235.99
 1311 V.W. IRS Bus or Vanagan 4-Pinion $260.99

 That's a big price difference for a Lock/Unlock button!
And if he's doing a custom adaptation, for god's sake don't use a stock diff! Use an ARB or somehing that can take some power. I wouldn't even consider $800 to use stock parts.
