Appears to be a mechanical restoration... with some cosmetics.
Not FULL resto
But, found something about it more whine-worthy.
For SALE or trade only only for a "Splitscreen Highroof"
I doubt a highroof is getting traded for a post-barndoor bench seat panel.
What's kinda weird...
"1961" with:
62-71 tail lights

Ok, so it's yellow...and red...and green...and black....and hideous...and godknows what else....
...but I draw the line at knocking out roof dents with a....small ball-peen hammer? (What did they paint the bus with...bottom of a shoe?)
(and no disclusure of roof damage?)
Love the fact it got black stone-chip INSIDE rather than outside...

...and interesting that it has 1963 painted on the rear hatch, but it is a Brazilian Bus from 1974. I guess they forgot to mention that it was produced in Brazil. At least they quietly mention that it is a 1974 (not a 1963) in the copy of the ad.

I would drive that bus as it is. I wonder how many hundreds of thousands of miles it has already driven? The sad part is someone will probably give it the mop-and-glo treatment, add a bunch of repro deluxe bits, then resell it to someone that is drawn to shiny objects who will never drive it. |

I'm the guy that buys them shiny then never drives them again (check my threads), but I am out on this one. Find another guy! |

If its been driven for a lot of those miles with the air cleaner and engine compartment seals like that you will be doing an engine rebuild before too many more miles. |

Concur.
I think on the last digit in red should have silver background too.
It looks nice, whats a working faux trip speedo worth? In lieu of paying for a real one...I'd roll with it 8) |

I also agree with both of you, I believe this to be a converted normal speedometer into a "trip" speedometer. I hope the buyer was aware of that conversion prior to purchase...

While you're at it finish the steering wheel and turn signal switch and throw some interior and door panels in.
He mentions the new chrome pop outs in the add so not sure if this is before the bus is finished or not, but at this price I would think it would be finished with current pics. |

Agree... it needs to be finished up.
The exterior paint looks nice in the photos but this interior shot shows what I always consider a red flag - pedals and everything are all shot white and the same white as everything else:

^^^^"no rust" doesn't apply to the pass safari window frame which is already rusting
agreed those painted brake and clutch pedals look suspicious- for that kind of coin would be nice if they bothered to spring bus seat stand mats http://www.wolfsburgwest.com/cart/DetailsList.cfm?ID=234863665 |

Interesting with the wood and separate colors.
Also the rear seats look like awesome originals.
Nice original headliner too. |

Yea, this guy seems like a real piece of work, check out the back seat base, seat & the split BUG-ish pillow, just that pic alone screams HACK. |
