Are you referring to me? Not sure I understand what you're saying but OK then.
I have zero interest in it and it appears closer to you than me so I say fill your boots. Just saying the market isnt what it was 5 -10 years ago. Be interesting to see better pics if hes actually in the ballpark but I just cant see it. |

It's not like that bringing an old VW into the US As long as the paperwork checks out going into Washington State you just go straight home. Done it many times. |

Would be nice if they'd included pictures of the body, underside and sills etc., but from the pictures they've posted I think it looks pretty good. Lots of original stuff. Even the door cards are there.
The price isn't terrifying considering the condition and the original parts they've described.
I like it. Hope someone gets it and tidies it up sympathetically. |

I mean it’s a fairly complete and looks solid potentially low mileage press bumper truck. Don’t pop up every day. |

^^ nice low mileage press bumper SC- that paint job over original SWR is a crime though |

Mike that's a 57 so it wouldn't be OG SWR. I count 3 different colors other than the dove blue in the headlight buckets. Once again more pics would go a long way with his sale and remove all speculation. |

Correct. ALL commercials prior to 1958 were dove blue with grey primer in the cargo area of the kombis, unless ordered special color. Pritschen had Dove blue on most surfaces except underside.
It would be fun to see if the overpaint might come off with Gumout carb cleaner and scrubbing. I removed all of a rattle can can black paint job from a very nice two tone Vanagon once. It came out near perfect, but was about 100 hours of work.
This one MAY have got sanded, tho. Then I think I'd learn to love the bronze/green?
I agree, priced over market. That paint job takes $10k off the value. |

You can see blue paint outlining where the emblem was. The bed looks like it is (or has worn back to) blue, and only the perimeter of the inner sides of the gates looks to have been over-painted. I'll make an educated guess that the prep work for the overpaint wasn't thorough. |

I'd like proof it has 15K miles and not 115K.
It's weird to me that it would be painted completely inside for such low mileage.
And 15K miles and the bed wood is gone?
The lower part of the door panel has a lot of wear for 15K miles.
Not impossible but I've seen nicer driver's side OG panels on Commercials with tons more mileage.
Anyways... I think the 15K miles could be legit but it could be a well preserved 115K too |

I think it's legit ~16K on the odometer, but much more likely to be 116K actual miles on the truck.
original miles would be factory installed miles.
Truck looks dry, looks a decent project. Pics are not so great, price is high. |

Yes, I'm pretty sure it's 115k.
I guess I was a little bit wowed by the mostly original engine. It could have been rebuilt once or needing it yet again. You'd think that the tires would be older, perhaps the spare original if only 15k miles.
I'm sure with personal inspection there would be many tell tales.
WRT to importing to the US I'd bet the Chicken Tax Tariff still applies.
If this tax is based on the original list price or the sales price would be a big deal. It was 25%, right?
Best bet would be a RI (Registered Importer). Pretty sure there are a few that are members of this list. |

This looks like a lovely camper if I had that sort of money. Why does a '67 have a small back hatch? Is that a high roof feature? |

Yes, that torsion spring hatch hinge was too much of a pain to make tall.

Is it me, or is it sketchy that they redacted the VIN on the birth cert? |

Its less weird than the people who cover up license plates, which is not uncommon at all. |

Recycled Jack is right up the road from me. I could go check out this $5k floor mat and offer him the $100 it is worth. |

The crack in the middle isn't slight IMHO
$100 sounds good though :) |

I saw this today. Its a 66’ slider with a sunroof conversion being passed off as a real German bus. You be the judge.
