'Perfectly good' might be a stretch, it looks good going down the road (course we're all a little bias on here  ) but it's definately got some issues. I guess I know it's potential and want to find it 8)

Me and you both. I stop and ask about so many vw I get some strange looks. The last one I found (that may come my way) is a '59' panel. That's another story line / post.

My car is a total rat but nothing is more fun than driving it!!! We had our local dustoff this past weekend and I am always surprised how many positive comments I get in regards to my car just the way it is. I have driven it to work every day it hasnt rained for more than two weeks. Gotta drive them!!!!

so far all of mine are junk status. I picked a few goodies and left the rest to increase the mineral counts in the area.

Gosh, it really breaks my heart seeing Karmann Ghias in this worst condition. That will not happen here in the Philippines.

My new POS - 68 ghia vert... sitting in the woods for ATLEAST 20 years the man said. Here is EXACTLY as I found it

Hung out with the old man and worked out a price... $75 bucks. Drug it out and got it home just a few days back!

He had the OG decklid so thats a plus!

Bought those haggard bumpers for $60 yesterday... great deal for two bumpers

That HUGE dent in the front fender and the pass. 1/4 panel were both done with the mans tractor years ago

Found the Nosebadge, headlight rings, nose grilles and taillight parts from an early ghia sitting in my town for cheap
The car has 0% of the floors left but its in the works!

Don, news must travel very slowly towards the west.

I hate to be the one to break it to you, but VW Trends went out of business several years ago.
Not to worry though - the publisher will fill the balance of your subscription with a fine publication called EuroTrends.

(Don't anyone let on how horrible EuroTrash is.......I hate to be the bearer of so much bad news in one day.)

I was hunting for a dual port motor and I found this ghia in the salvage yard. I asked how much the engine was.

He said I would rather just sell the whole car, probably because he's taken out the top two bolts before.

I should have drove up in my 66 ford falcon van cause he said after thinking for a moment.

$1500.00 - the eyebrows on four of the other people hanging out hit the tops of thier heads,

and I said "ok - thanks" and left.

The thing was pretty much a mess. He has a bunch of busses and bugs of various years and pretty terrible condition,
I would think he might be able to make that over ten years if he parted it out. Every other air cooled anything had already had
its engine removed, which may be the other reason he wanted them to go together. Just a wierd deal I think.

He's got alot of air cooled parts - but I'll never go back.

There was an interesting cam in it apparently:

sorry about the big pix I'll try to shrink them.
Pictures of the other junk out there are at:
