As I wrap up one Kab it is straight onto another. This is a very nice platform to start with.

I just love how the powder coat epoxy primer gets up inside everything so well.

This should be a fun and fairly straightforward resurrection.

Nice to see a Ghia cabriolet in your shop that doesn't need extensive work :D

^^^Thanks for all the supportive words Folks, I appreciate it.^^^

I’m really enjoying the Low Lights. I honestly prefer them over the early Porsche.

That is a really enviable starting point! I'll be interested to see how much original metal you decide to keep and where you decide to cut, but it looks really quite solid compared to most. Keep the photos coming!

^^^All Good Stuff Fellas, Let’s have some Fun”

Now that the car is stripped and I can get a good solid look at what we have going on , I can say I’m pretty pleased.

My goal with every restoration that comes to me is to open up as many blind cavities as possible/justifiable and remove all collision damage, rust and subpar repairs before the blasting and primer is achieved.

With that said I’m hopeful that I will not be cutting more original metal past the point we see now. There are some existing repairs but I feel like they deserve to remain and will must likely only need just some extra little love to bring them home.

We I first started out I would unbolt everything off the car and then send it out to blast but it always came back so messy and hidden rust inside everywhere. Now I really enjoy getting them in this stage of restoration so I have a very clean and honest canvas to paint the picture that clients and myself can enjoy gazing on. 😜👊

I’m Super Jazzed about this coming Week’s Wrotation ….

The goal will be to knock out as many handmade panels as possible so my son can come along behind me and melt them in. ☑️🤍👀

Ok Folks so I had nice day moving some Metall around to resurrect the Kab.

I started in on the driver side lower inner and outer panels. I decided to use the english wheel to do the tipping instead of the traditional way using a tipping die in the bead roller. I was blessed to get this wheeling machine from my metal mentor and it has some pretty fancy abilities in its adjustments. I’m able to tilt the lower anvil to concentrate the pressure where I want it, it worked pretty well.

I picked up these extremely thin blades by 3M that are perfect for making thin cuts that will be welded in.

It Truly is My Brother….

When my Grandfather passed away I was blessed with some money he left us and I wanted so bad to make that money mean something that would last.

I put almost every dime into tools for the shop. I has turned out to be an awesome way to preserve that Legacy. Now that now Son works with me temporarily it means even more. 🤍

God is Good…. All The Time…. 🕊☑️🤍⚒
