Hi guyz,
I would like to have some feedback and/or opinions about these interesting spindles from slammedpanel in The Netherlands.

Absolutely
no welding, just a lot of fine
machine work to give your baby
a full 4.3” inch drop! We do lots
more than just work on the
spindle body. The trailing arms
also have to be machined and
are fitted with four new push/
pull ball joints. Wheelbase stays
the same but you will have to
flip the rod ends, again for more
frame clearance. All is sand-
blasted/powder coated in satin
black.

What seduce me at first sight :
- huge drop
- no welding
- no 10mm enlargment per side like wagenswest's ones
But.. the ball joint's configuration is reversed compared to stock (see picture).
What do you think about that ? What does "push/pull ball joints" mean ?
I'm waiting their reply but it's not a bad thing to have your opinion
Thanks in advance

I saw Peters and I PM'd him about them. Flipping the balls joints means you are hanging the bus by the the press fit on the ball joint. Peter said he has machined a circlip groove in the ball joint to help with that. Another issue is the bus is also hanging by the taper fit and then the nut. In the factory design the bus pushes down on the ball joint press fit, the taper and the nut just keeps everything in place. Personally I would rather haveone piece forged dropped spindles but I can't make any and I trust my welding. Just my thoughts. |
