The rims look great powder coated. Just for your information, I remember reading a thread where someone had them powder coated and they had an issue with the lugs loosening up a bit and a wheel may have fallen off. I think I remember them suggesting to sand/grind away the powder coat where the lug seeds to the rim. I will try to find the link and give it to you.
The project is coming along, always an inspiration to read the updates.

That's true! I had mine powdercoated and the rear wheel worked its way loose and fell off! Fortunately I was a block from the house and had just turned onto a neighborhood street. |

Most/all of the wiring diagrams on the site are upside down - this is how VW printed them in the shop manuals. It's confusing.
As far as I know your layout is correct.
Try to reverse it, most of the wires won't reach. |
Very confusing, at least the wire colors match so i can follow the diagram I guess ill be reconstructing my wiring just like the '57 Euro diagram. I will make slight mods as I want brake lights on all 3 lights in the back, i would hate for someone to hit me because of the one small brake light in the middle, I will also want blinking turn signals in the back and in the semaphores but both of these mods will be in the lightbulbs themselves and not in the wiring, I will have to make blinking LED bulbs . _________________ www.jag35.com

motor is a 3 phase AC induction motor, rated for up to 130V, 67hp 115ft lbs of torque 0-8k rpms.
Took it out for a 1st test drive tonight
Its definitely an experience driving it, feels sorta like a big golf cart, it does up to 40mph on first, I didn't really push too hard as the steering is tight since no lube on steering box yet and no seat belts and no door make for a bad combo. The take off is really smooth not the sprinty beast I was expecting, but thats due to programing im sure as once it starts rolling and you give it gas you can feel the power.
Eventually I'll swing by HPEVS so they can tune my controller _________________ www.jag35.com

What is the measurement from the cargo door aperture to the side window frame? I too have a double door bus and am getting ready to weld in the rear side window frames as oppose to the hack holes that are currently in there but don't have a bus I can measure.
BTW - I always look forward to reading this thread... Great work. _________________ Monkeydub Car Parts - Stainless nut & bolt kits and rubbers seals

Had a great response over the weekend at the OCTO and Classic shows. Talked to a bunch of people and pretty much everyone was nice to me, no haters showed up.
Here are a few pictures I took after the show

This pic screams, how easy it would be for a DD sunroof to fold like a taco without the proper sheetmetal in place.Read all 31 pages...good work! _________________ Defying conventional wisdom since 1970 |
