Just bought this buggy been sitting in a guys shed for 18 years from when he bought it from another guy.
Its never been on a chassis just some mockup.
I'm having trouble figuring out what it is.
From the windshield posts they seem to be deserter.
But the hood don't have the spot for the badge.
Any help would be great.
Thanks
Chris

I like the shape of the roof. It is different and looks very low.

Awesome find!

The chin spoilers are the key identifying feature:

Dune Buggy Archives has pictures of a Marauder, listed as “Marauder was an authorized copy of the Deserter.“ http://www.dunebuggyarchives.com/decision-tree/leafs/BuggyId/?first=m

With some additional pictures here: http://www.dunebuggyarchives.com/decision-tree/leafs/BuggyId/?first=m

I like the gull wing hardtop too. What are your buggy build plans for this winter?

The Deserter GT was a copy of the Bounty Hunter which Brian Dries made.

Deserter GT had an 84" wb. Not sure but I believe the earlier Bounty Hunter had the traditional 80".

Keep us up to date on this build, it sure is a nice looking body. Are you planning to go Street or Off-Road with this thing?

I have to agree, that's a great looking Marauder!! I've never seen one that complete. Solid, side tanks and a hardtop. The hard top on your car originally was a solid piece, difficult to fit into and was modified with the T top type panels, not a full gull wing top. I don't think there was a side door or window option for this version?

The top is unique, not as tall as the Deserter, but nice and low similar to the Bounty Hunter.

I think your right also on the posts, they look like Deserter pieces to me.

A great find, good luck with the build. Keep us posted with plenty of pictures!

Nice! That should make a really sweet street buggy. Is it gelcoat or paint?

Wow, that may be my favorite body style now. I love the way the headlights pop and the fenders continue around them. Sidepods, too, this thing is the bomb.

I wonder what ever happened with this Buggy? I see the OP visited in September. Stashed it? Flipped it? Building it?
