I always use two and put the metal baffle in between the two.

you dont' need two. in fact you really don't need any. all you need is a new metal piece. they are a crush style washer.

..but you can use just one of the gaskets. put it on top of the metal piece. that's what i have right now and no leaks.

I use only the metal gasket (installed in the correct orientation) with Loctite 518, or any non-silicone sealer you prefer. I have never had one leak in the hundreds I have installed over the years.

No gaskets needed because the metal baffle has a crush ridge on it and is supposed to be non-reusable. That's why you always get one in a complete gasket set. But if you do reuse the baffle, then you should probably use 2 gaskets and maybe a prayer it won't leak.

yeah should be fine. will probably be better. those normal gaskets are just cardboard paper. cork is better than that.

Nothing to do with gaskets really, but why not take the opportunity to replace the Alternator studs with bolts so the stand can be unbolted and slid forward in the event you ever have to replace the Alternator and don't want to or have time to remove the entire engine.
Someone told me that a while back and it ended up really helping me.

or make it a baja and you can remove the whole fan shroud and alternator by removing 2 bolts. 1 on each side of the fan shroud. lol

makes things very simple to work on. no engine removal or difficult ways of removing stuff. Razz
