I always use two and put the metal baffle in between the two. _________________ Joey

I use only the metal gasket (installed in the correct orientation) with Loctite 518, or any non-silicone sealer you prefer. I have never had one leak in the hundreds I have installed over the years. _________________ OK Thang |

No gaskets needed because the metal baffle has a crush ridge on it and is supposed to be non-reusable. That's why you always get one in a complete gasket set. But if you do reuse the baffle, then you should probably use 2 gaskets and maybe a prayer it won't leak. _________________ Brian

Nothing to do with gaskets really, but why not take the opportunity to replace the Alternator studs with bolts so the stand can be unbolted and slid forward in the event you ever have to replace the Alternator and don't want to or have time to remove the entire engine.
Someone told me that a while back and it ended up really helping me. _________________ 70 Beetle (1776 MoFoCo)
