Heads on the 1915 are 40x35 with a mild P&P, and the cam is a Web 218.

The 1915 is in a car and what a BLAST to drive! The 1600 will be back on the dyno next week...I have the headers and intake manifolds, and will order the turbos next week, and should have kits by Christmas...Thanks for all of the interest, and if you want one of the first 10 kits, e-mail me and you can get on the list...only a few left. the next batch probably won't happen until Feb. THANKS!

What is the compression ratio on the 1600 and 1914?

Also, looking at the photo on page 19 it appears that the #1 and #3 exhaust pipes run directly underneath the pushrods-will you have a model available that run those pipes under the heads so you can use the sled tins or heater boxes?

I have a 2110 turbonectics T3/T4 with Quick fuel 650
I need better gas mileage is why I want a 1600 turbo.

110 cam
Holly 350 cfm
T25 turbo
The rest of the motor will be stock.
Will be starting the short block as soon as I get the new rods. Hopefully in the next two weeks.

This will be a DD. I cant wait to be driving my bug again.

Would this turbo kit fit into a '72 Ghia, stock 1600 engine? I'm looking for a carb upgrade and I'm torn between a dual carb and a turbo. I'd like performance and more mpg (I'm getting 17 and would like something closer to 25) I'd like to spend less than $3k.

What do you all think?

Joel Mohr Fri Dec 09, 2011 1:05 pm

Haven't tried it, but everything should go in a ghia no problem...got the boots in, and the kits should be done soon....

The kits are down to the details...
Included: T28 with internal wastegate
header (uncoated)
intake manifold and boots and clamps
Rebuilt Kadron, jetted for 1600 unless otherwise specified
CB thinline sump with return hose and fittings
throttle cable
oil feed tee and fittings
rear tin
The price is going to end up at 1600. (all of the little peices add up!)
all you need is a locked out dist. or we can provide one for an additional 90.00
We should have everything together by late Jan. only a couple of kits in the first 10 are unspoken for....

That's pretty damn cool.....I'll be eyeing ones of these for a future build...

How would this setup fit in a split bus? Would there need to be any changes made to the apron section?

Joel Mohr Tue Jan 10, 2012 11:18 am

We designed it for no cutting on a sedan, which means it should fit ghias and busses also....I can't post pics here (don't know how), but if you are interested, send me an e-mail...the earlier pics are from a friend...
