If you have an updates or photos to add here, please PM EverettB with the information
----------------------
I've scoured the forums and can't find a thread that breaks down the aircleaners for aircooled upright motor vw's by model and year.
it would be nice to have a picture of each air cleaner type and what years it was used. I know in 36hp era, there was some overlap with manufacturers like knecht and mann both supplying 2 different air cleaners to the factory at the same time.uio9
so lets post up some pictures under each section in order by year with a picture and part number
Ghia air cleaner picture reference thread:

Here are some more found in the gallery!
1943-49
1953 only air cleaner.
1951-52 T-air cleaner.
Side view of above
This one looks like a 1953 air cleaner, but has the wing nut holding on the top.
1966 only air cleaner.
This one looks like it is for installing 1600 engines in pre-1967 Beetle. Note large preheat connection for the later engines. Part number 113 129 613Q.

This is the Mann air cleaner on my 1960 bug with a build date of Feb.23, 1960. The photo does not show the part # very well but I used some chalk to be sure and the number is 113 129 611A. I did find the date stamp on the bottom and it is 01/60. The car is very original so this may well be the original air cleaner. The May 1960 parts list that I looked at does agree with that part number.
