Type 3 VIN / Chassis Numbers
Each chassis number is the last vehicle produced in that month.
Beginning in the 1965 model year (August 1964), the VIN/chassis number begins with the 2-digit model number, i.e. 31 for Fastbacks,
36 for Squarebacks, etc.  Refer to Models for the numbers.  The 3rd digit is the model year, i.e. 365 would be a 1965 Squareback.
