So very sorry to hear this. It seemed just a matter of time after seeing your VT posts…
Such an active, experienced, creative, fearless, masterful craftsman. Always ready to help a fellow
van owner. Great sense of humor, too. Wish I could have met him, and glad that you had the chance.
Peace and strength to his family and friends…
❤️

Oh no. I was hoping to to try to meet that fellow up in NH as im living in new england these days. From the bucket hat to the woodwork, he reminded me of my father in law. Dude seemed 110% genuine. We lost a good one _________________ so many roads i know

RIP, Duncan. You brought some of the best ideas and attitudes ever to The Samba.
- A DIY heated steering wheel that many folks (repeatedly) said would never work. Yet you made it work.
- A massive sunroof covered with canvas...or a handbuilt boat...or a little tent, etc.
- A dash with a hood that opened to reveal what mortals typically spend hours trying to get to.
- The best wooden dash and door accents.
- More passenger seat mods than imaginable.
- Great photos of your van's many interesting mods.
- Fiberglass knowledge unmatched on this board.
- A wooden boat heritage that tends to spawn independent problem solvers.
- A willingness to challenge any and all ideas.
You made this place a far better place than it would have been without you.
Safe travels. _________________ - Jim

Rest in peace Duncan. I don't think you were able to fully explore the emulator I sold to you, but hats off for embracing technology. Condolences to your loved ones. A real gentleman. _________________ _________________

So sad, I loved Duncan's creativity and no fear approach to his projects. He was the guy on Samba I really wanted to meet and talk with someday. My condolences to all that feel the pain of his loss. RIP Mark _________________ what a long strange trip it's been |

I couldn't have said it better.
His inquisitive nature and giving soul came through in all his posts.

Last year when our passenger window motor died with the window down, I looked on the forums for a solution and found that Duncan had solved getting the window and motor out. I happen to live less than an hour from him, drove to his place, and we spent about 3 hours together getting it worked out.
Duncan will be missed for sure. _________________ White 89 Westy with 2004 Subaru EJ25 - Betty |

Wow, so sorry to hear
We were trying to get together as he came down to the Mystic Seaport often, and I'm not horribly far away from there.
Rest east Duncan, we'll meet on the other side _________________

Duncan helped me out last summer extensively - after reading my rambling posts DM'd then called me from the bar, beer in hand and talked me off the ledge. Thank you sir - you passed some of that knowledge to me and i appreciate it.
RIP. _________________ __________
