2004 Danbury Camper Color Folder - UK market

This is built by VW do Brasil and equipped with a standard 1584ccm / 58 BHP rear-mounted, air-cooled boxer-motor.

Danbury sells two versions of the Type 2 Camper in the UK. The "Danbury Rio" with a Queen-sized lower bed and the "Danbury Surf" with a King-sized lower bed. Both models feature a pop-top with another double bed. The 2005 "Danbury Surf" has been re-named the "Danbury Diamond."

The modern VW Type 2 Kombi has the Type 1 engine (seen in the USA from 1949 to 1971) as opposed to the larger Type 4 engine used in the Bay Window and Vanagon models from 1972 to 1992.

Technical specifications for the Brazilian VW Type 2 Kombi have remained constant from the 1998 to the 2005 model years. These include electronic fuel-injection, a real interior heater, front disk brakes (power-assisted) & hydraulic lifters.
