1977 Beetle Brochure - German

This was the final model year for which Beetle Sedans were
manufactured in Germany; in 1978 they would no longer be sold new in North
America (USA & Canada) and would be imported from Mexico for the West
European Continent (not for the UK or Ireland). The last Beetle Sedan
factory in Germany was Emden (the old US export factory). 1977 saw both the 1192ccm and 1584ccm engines offered in Europe, in
either the 1200 or 1200L trim levels ("L" stood for "Luxus" in German). Note the high quality Velour Cloth seats, much nicer than the Grey
Houndstooth that came back in 1978. The exterior color selection in Europe
for 1977 more closely resembled that in North America for 1975. They did not
have our metallic choices, but then we had only 3 color choices for the Beetle Sedan.
"Der Kfer: mehr bei einer Probefahrt" means "The Beetle: more by test drive."
