1994 Full Line Brochure - USA
Note the Eurovan on pages 14 & 15. The vehicle in the photo is a Eurovan MV
Westfalia Camper.
The T4 Eurovan replaced the T3 Vanagon in the US market effective the 1993 model
year. There was officially no 1994 model year Eurovan in North America as the
1993 model year Eurovan was introduced in late 1992 and carried on until the end
of 1994.
The Eurovan's first full year in the USA was Volkswagen of America's worst sales
year since 1955, with only 49,533 new Volkswagens delivered (1,936 of which were
Eurovans). The new Eurovan featured a front-mounted, water-cooled 5-cylinder
inline engine with capacity of 2459ccm and output of 109 BHP.
The Eurovan is built in the old Type 2 factory in Hanover (Lower Saxony),
Germany while the Wesfalia camper conversions are done in Wiedenbrueck
(Northrhine-Westphalia), Germany by Hans Knoebel & Sons, K.G., a German
coachbuilder founded in 1844.
