Samba Feature VW - 1964 Beetle
|
My name is Alex Armijo. I live in La Puente, CA. This is a 1964 Beetle that I purchased about 10 yrs ago. I drove it before when it looked like Hell run over. Within the last year and a half I finally decided to redo the whole car. So this is a pan-off resto-custom job that has almost everything new on it. All the body parts were taken down to the metal (by a friend and lots of family members) primed and painted by Star Auto Body in Covina. The pan has been sandblasted and powder-coated. The pan was then assembled by the Guys at BFY Obsolete Parts in Orange, CA. The engine is a Steelbuggin 1641 w/ Dual Kadron 40's, Ceramic Coated headers w/ hideaway exhaust. The car went back to BFY where they assembled the rest of the car. The interior is Tweed and a little vinyl. The headliner is Tweed and made by TMI, the door panels and quarter panels are also made by TMI. German square weave carpet lines the floor. I updated all the gauges and added a Flat 4 Steering wheel. Most of the work was done by Bob at BFY and I would like to thank him for all the hours he put in on my car right before The Classic.
There are only minor things I want to do with my car but it is
basically all accesories. I would like to thank Bob (BFY), my
brother in law for helping out tremendously, My girlfriend for her
support and patience Ron for the awesome body work, and Carlos from
Star Auto Body in Covina for the sweet paint. . And my kids for
keeping me excited about the whole project. |
