Hello there! I’m reaching out to VW communities to hopefully get some guidance and suggestions. I live in Pasadena, CA and in January suffered losses in the Eaton fire. One of them being my 1979 Westfalia VW Bus. A cherished belonging that I bought from my father after he lost his ability to drive due to a stroke in 2017. I bought it from him to keep it in the family with the intention of refurbishing it; I shipped it from West Virginia to my home near Altadena. It does not run and I had to make the hard decision to leave it behind when evacuating. It and my garage burnt down. Weirdly enough the frame and underbelly seem to stay standing. There is severe fire damage, (and from what I can tell with my limited knowledge on VWs) without substantially more than the car is worth and what I can afford as a scientist. I would love for at least part of this Bus to live on in someone else bus rather than being scrapped totally. Someone put a note asking if I was looking to sell. What would a reasonable asking price be?
