the front and rear 1969 deluxebus all clean for the Gcvws matt street
This is my 69 Deluxe Bus they were taken last summer after a nice wash and wax
The bus is all stock other then a 019 and a gene berg equilizer pulley, and deep sump. It runs very well but may see a power upgrade to a 1776 or 2110? View other images: From matt street Search Forums for photo

This is the re-rebuilt engine at the 434,125 mile mark, sitting in my kitchen/dining nook. My GF has been understanding. Now that she knows I can do a bang-up job cleaning the floor, it is my new long-term chore. Every single part has been cleaned polished and painted. Engine At 429,000 Miles Amskeptic
While I was in Glendale, CA, a mechanic regalled me with stories of my camshaft gear being loose. I took apart the engine in his parking lot, it was fine.
He sold me a set of mismatched rods.
( I should have just rebushed mine!) This is the engine 10 minutes before completion. 4,125 miles later, it is in my kitchen dining area, just rebuilt AGAIN, this time with properly weighed rods, fully balanced reciprocating parts, and some Porsche 911 swivelfoot adjusters. I'll post pictures of it,
it looks silly sitting in the house, but it is actually kind of pretty.
Looking forward to spring. . .

Interior @ 419,000 miles Amskeptic
After much gnashing of teeth and returns, Enrique @ TMI rustled up a proper correctly-patterned set of upholstery. My first upholstery job has some secrets that shall remain unnamed.
This was done in October of 2001. Stock interior all my life, there are memories that VW Buses can generate, those, too, shall remain unnamed.

Cross-Country To RMMW Show Amskeptic
Put 15,000 miles on this car in blistering heat at 70 mph. All seals in place with a stock cooling system, no problems. I've taken this car cross-country 16 times in the past twenty three years. The BMW and the MB stay home because they just are not as fun. View other images: From Amskeptic Search Forums for photo

Dash With Tach Amskeptic
I have no idea if this will have sufficient resolution to show the custom tach face. I installed this thing in 1980, it has a Lucas movement from an old Jaguar, got it done at Mo-Ma Manufacturing in North Hollywood, CA for $185.00 twenty three years ago, ouch. All the lettering on the dash and knobs was done with a very small paintbrush and 50/50 vinyl paint and Rustoleum white. No coffee for one day prior to painting. : ) View other images: From Amskeptic Search Forums for photo

I have owned this '73 Bus since 1979.
It now has 435,000 miles, pretty much original. Never had an engine failure, original carbs, distributor, alternator, v-belt is now 24 years old and still functional, the Michelins in the photo have 65,000 miles and plenty of tread left. I have a tachometer in the clock spot that looks exactly like the speedometer dial with a shrunken speedometer needle for that fresh OEM look. This car is a good highway hauler, just got back from a 15,000 mile cross-country jaunt that included a berth at the RMMW car show and a climb up Pikes Peak.
