| Split Bus Wiper Shafts |

Here is a sampling of the various wiper shafts, with comparisons of length.
Upper shaft is from a barndoor with associated mounting hardware. Brass threaded part is fully threaded.
Middle is 3/55 to approximately 1960. Notice the "half moon" milling on the brass threaded part, and how the washer has similar "half moon" shape. Not sure why this was done, since the hole in the body is a full circle. I have also seen these shafts with full circle threaded brass part.
Lower is approximately 60-64. Short shaft, full thread round brass part. Approximately 5mm shorter than the middle shaft. |
