In 1976 Volkswagen de Mexico retired some colors from production. This year VW cars in Mexico were available in a slightly lighter shade of red (Rojo Colibri), a version of the classic arctic blue (Azul Agua), pastel white, and a new shade of green (Verde Hoja) replacing the darker color of 1975. Yellow (Amarillo Janitzio) and mid-blue (Azul Horizonte) were continued.
This chart shows the approximate shade of each of those colors and how they looked on the iconic VW Beetle, plus it includes the name Volkswagen de Mexico gave to its colors in 1976. |
