Busses produced in Wolfsburg between 3/55 and 3/56 had quite a few bizarre and "one year only" features and parts. Some were only used for a few months.
I'll be posting pics of some I have found. Do you have any to submit?
On the front axle beams, the shock mounting hardware is secured by means of a locktab that fits in slots in the axle and the lower trailing arm. These locktabs are alos used on Type 1's, and Barndoors. The also continue past Wolfsburg production, but I am not sure for how long.
