cab roof panel in '61 SO-34 Posted: Mon Nov 28, 2011 11:26 am     Views: 1621      Rating: Not rated

At some point VW changed the inner cab roof structure for kombis and panels. This means there are 'early' and 'late' cab roof panels. The change was sometime in late 1960 or early 1961. In fact, it was intermittant, meaning there are some buses who take the 'early' roof panel that were made after buses that take the 'late' version.

There is a stick of wood butted up against the ledge under where the sun visor would go in the ' early' version.
The ledge is not there in the 'late' version.
This turkis green bus takes the 'early' cab roof panels.
