I haven't been able to find any info or any other car that is like mine so I'm seeing if anyone could give me some info. Also wondering what it may be worth...
I was told it is a 1975 Model 110 standard. About the car.... Fuel Injected, Black trim, no vent wings behind quarter windows, houndstooth interior, headliner only in the rectangular recessed area of the roof, plain door panels. It sat in a garage untouched for the last 20+ years. It's all original except for front disc brakes, 69k miles, only a couple minor surface rust areas.

I found this in another post
1975 Had a variation of the Love Bug as well but it was just called "the Basic beetle" ...at least that is what I think they were called, the official model number was 110. It was an ultra stripped down car w/standard slotted wheels w/a little center cap, no flow through ventallation so it had no louvers in the front lid & no vents behind the rear side windows, it didn't have a full headliner either, just a center section like the 50's standard beetles. Again, cheap fiber door panels w/exposed clips, no armrests just a pull (same pull used on the roof of other beetles) and dogtooth cloth seats.
These cars were available in L51C Miami blue...
Aparently this is a very rare car... _________________ Gotta Jibboo!!! |

I had one in blindingly bright yellow when they were brand new. The car came just as you describe it. Black vinyl coated masonite door panels and roof insert panel. No frills interior with cloth houndstooth seats. Bought this because it was the absolute cheapest new bug available for my 120 miles daily commute. Car ran strong for about 35,000 miles and then developed progressively more serious driveability issues. Original dealer couldn't find the problem after numerous attempts and was hoping the car would go out of warranty and out of his hair. Finally took it to another dealer near my job. Service manager took it for a test drive, the car quit in the midst of heavy traffice and we were nearly hit head-on. he nursed the car back to the dealership and promised that, if i let him keep the car, he'd fix it, no matter what it took. He had the car nearly 5 weeks. He and VWOA poured a small fortune in parts into it. Finally, a mechanic who'd been working on the car periodically, suggested changing the OEM boot going from the FI to the brain. Eureka!. The OEM boot had a pin hole right near the air speed senor and was befuddling the computerized FI. My repair cost: $7.00 for the new boot! The car ran perfectly after that until it was sold in 1978 with near to 160,000 miles. Good luck with yours. BTW, the modelname the car was sold under when I bought it was a "custom" Beetle. |

I'm intrigued with the roof insert. Are those available from any of the major parts or interior places. It seems like it would be a cool alternative to the headliner. |

Also forgot to ask, but do you still have your owner's manual?. The reason im asking is because i don't have one yet and was wondering if it's the same as all the other '75's manual's or if it was different (front cover, ect), before having to buy one. _________________ Be kind to all critters. Nope. Haven't seen any so far. It has only 3-rods. Would have to be made at an interior/sewing shop. _________________ Be kind to all critters. America's "H8TERZ" can drink sludgy used Motor Oil!

I like the look of that headliner, what about one from a 63 model, would that replace yours? |

i would say it is worth hardly anything at all and you should sell it to me promptly for 100 dollars |

Yeah I wouldn't mind the roof panel either. Does anyone know if the early model panel will fit a newer Bug? _________________ If at first you don't succeed, skydiving is not for you.

I'm not sure about the early headliners fitting newer bugs, shouldn't be too hard to make tho. Maybe I should cut this one apart for patterns, haha, just kidding

I don't think the 110s has a luggage shelf cover. If so it would fold out from the rear seat at the top.
Thanks for posting these pictures ! When I gave my initial description of a #110 Beetle months ago I was told these door panels never existed. Pictures prove they do.
If I wasn't trying to sell my Vanagon Westy and be over my limit on cars I'd love to own this car.
I think I still have a new set of center covers for the wheels somewhere. _________________ Midwest Autosavers, Inc. Crystal Lake, IL |
