|
|
I installed an accelator cable yesterday complete with new flex tube and hard tube that fits through the fan shroud.
While the flex tube has a boot where it mates to the exit tube from the tunnel, is there a boot where the flex tube meets the hard tube from the shroud? And the hard tube seems to hold in place by a grommet on the motor side of the shroud?
Am I missing any peices or is this the way it is to be? It would seem the hard tube can work its way along the cable towards the carb and the joint between it and the flex tube would open up.
thanks! |

I install a fuel line size hoseclamp behind the fanshroud on the rigid tube, it seems to work well for me. Good luck. |

The hose clamp deal works good, I've never had any problems with doing it that way.

Ditto, I had that problem and did the hose clamp trick about a year ago, no problems since _________________

One more tip, get a 1/4" nutdriver (or whatever the fastener size is on there, usually it's 1/4 for small hose clamps) to tighten the hose clamp. Works a lot better than a screwdriver because you're working blind in there and a nutdriver won't slip off.
