Was planning on covering the back of my Westy with a new bamboo floor. (Also planning to make new cabinets out of bamboo).
Was wondering if anyone knew where to get good, high quality bamboo floor materials?
Thanks!

Do the planet a favour and research bamboo on some sites not associated with the people selling it. It used to be a good product but increasingly, rainforest is being torn down to grow it, more and more chemicals are being used to make it bigger faster, and many more people are being basically sold into slavery to work it.
It has been turned into a nightmare for many 3rd world countries from a good idea by, what else, greed. Not a surprise to many thinking people.
Cork is much better anyway, warmer, quieter, and also renewable.

I have seen it at Sam's Club for pretty a reasonable price. |

Different styles and grades at Lowes also. I think it would be a nice look. _________________ '72 Bus |

So, some people in a third world country have come up with a commodity that will sell on a global scale. It also happens to be renewable, as anybody who has bamboo growing on their property can attest. Because they clear some acreage to grow it, fertilize it and hire locals to work it, giving them some income, it's bad. Get a grip.

I have also heard the bamboo has a better sound deadening quality than other typical wood floors. _________________ '72 Bus |

I know Lowe's carries it. I assume Home Depot or any specialty flooring store. You might check with a local flooring contractor to see if they have an overrun from a job. That can be cheap to buy and for a bus you don't need much. The contractor will be happy to unload it. Or re-do your whole house and order extra! _________________ '72 Bus |

See if you can find it in the 1/8" thick flexible "tiles" that are roughly 1'X2'. They can be glued down with contact cement and a package costs roughly $35 and will more than do a whole bus.
Just be careful with contact cement, when both sides of the gluing surface are ready to mate, once they touch they're there to stay!
