IN2VWs.. your stuff never fails to amaze me. Way Cool..
Now Im no engineer, but they look pretty darn similar except for the open area on the Sedan one. Measurements look the same... am I reading that right? _________________ DB

Vert ones seems to be more narrow, thus the 50 wide vs the 60 wide and I would assume why the vert ones are solid vs the opening.... _________________ I own a copy of "The Car of the Century" by Garwood. This means I am authorized to act like a twat in thesamba forums. |

Note to self: When judging Rich's vert make him take off the door panels, measure the width of the window roller bracket, and deduct points
Can't wait to see the finished product Rich, it will be awesome! _________________ 1957 Karmann Kabriolet "Franky"

Hi Rich,
I replaced a broken passenger side winder mechanism on my Aug '52 vert last year using a standard hardtop unit, as far as I remember they are exactly the same, its just the channel the glass sits in that's different.
Cheers

This is the window mechanism as I found it in my 1949 Hebmüller.
The "massive" style.
Compared to the "open" sedan one, the measurements are all the same.
By the way, here are the Heb window rails. compared to sedan ones.
Little shortened and triangular ends added to hold the aluminium frame.

No, there is a world between.
But the window lifters might be the same. _________________ Master of my domain! |

At my Heb and at my 49 sedan there are the door window
glasses 5,5 Millimeter thick.
At both cars the same. _________________ Master of my domain! |
