Der Papierblumenmoerder" (1970) if this is true then this is a at most 5 year old notch. Early, like 63 and earlier. Sunroofed, wide rear window trim, big 1500 (62) car. A baby, stripped and left to be scrapped.

Red '70 Fastback automatic, movie "The Student Nurses" 1971. In the shot where the woman (actress Brioni Farrell) gets into the car, you can see after she starts the engine that she moves her right arm to the rear- indicating an automatic transmission. Pushing it from the rear to try to start it won't work, honey.
Another Fasty in same movie: |

WTF is this! ? To be safe from an assailant with a 12 gauged shotgun, put a 68 fasty between you?
Be safe in driving your vintage Type 3 from shotgun wielding assailants. _________________

Red Squareback parked, TV show "Dragnet 1967" season 4 episode 7 from 1969- Homicide: cigarette butt.
Beige early Squareback, German movie "Schuesse in dreiviertel Takt" (1965, translated Shots in 3/4 rhythm). This scene is filmed in Vienna, Austria.
TV show "The Beverly Hillbillies" season 5 ep. 20 "The indians are coming" (1967). Even though the front hubcaps are flat and seem to have the narrow-slot beauty rings which are for 5-bolt wheels, a split second beforehand shows the rear wheel having the high nipple hubcap and what appear to be the larger oval-slot beauty rings from a '66+ with 4-bolt wheels. That's Granny and Jethro in their jalopy car. |

Teal custom Squareback, TV show "The A-Team" S3E7 "Trouble on Wheels" (1984). The 2 men standing up in the purple Cadillac "attack vehicle" are main characters Templeton Peck and B.A. Baracus (Dirk Benedict, Mr. T).
Blue '66 Fastback, TV show "T.J. Hooker".
Early Fastback in California desert, movie "Changes" (1969). Reminds me of the roads going south off the Pear Blossom Highway Rt 138 or Rt 18 west of Victorville, with the north faces of the San Gabriel Mountains in distance. IMDB does not list the location. |

Movie "Hopscotch" (1980), starring Glenda Jackson and Walter Matthau. Mrs. Jackson drives a pale yellow pre-'70 Squareback, which has '70+ bumpers and front turn signals . The grey sedan following Mrs. Jackson off the ferry is a British Rover P5B with Rostyle wheels. This model has the 3.5 liter aluminum V8 engine originally sold in some 1960's Buick models, as well as the Range Rover.
Mr. Matthau gets into the front passenger seat.
Note the crudely hand-painted license plate, white letters on black background to mimic Austrian plates. The "S" stands for Salzburg.
Dark green 411 Wagon parked. |

Wow. Nice catch. Later upgrades being what they are - some folks just had to have them. Putting "SAFER" additions to a Type 3 are rare to see indeed. As most volks considered their car "safe" enough. _________________

The small white station wagon flying into it is an Opel Kadett.
