I need to figure out what to use to be able to use my roof rack. I only have one of these that is shown in the photo above. I’m told they are almost impossible to find another one. If someone had one I’d definitely be interested in getting it but what’s a DIY way of being able to attach to my roof still. Thanks for any help! _________________ Two wrongs don’t make a right, but three rights make a left!

I believe that piece rides in your roof gutter. Then there's a secondary piece that draws it tight from the hole thats pictured. Both pieces could easily be made with simple tools and a tad of skill and patience. Get them welded at any exhaust or garage if you're not equipped. _________________ '69 Beetle

That looks like a turnbuckle connector. LH threads on one side, RH on the other. Turns to tighten or loosen. _________________ 1970 VW (owned since 1972) and 1971 VW Convertible (owned since 1976), second owner of each. The '71 now has the 1835 engine, swapped from the '70. Cool! Do you have a manufacture name or at least a link? Prefer the former due to links seem to die all too soon. _________________ In Stereo, Where Available! |
