OK
ARP has a rod bolt listed for VW 40hp motor [listed as formula V bolt] it is a cap screw bolt, does any body know if it will fit a 36hp rod? I would like to replace the bolts in the rods I'm using for a play motor I'm building.

Yes,, It's the same bolt ... Torque it at 36 foot pounds ....

For anyone looking, ARP # ARP104-6005 typically about $75 for a set of 8
