Installed an alternator conversion kit in the Thing only to find that the bell of the alternator interferes with my throttle. I've ordered an intake manifold spacer as well as some gaskets but am concerned that now the carb mounting bolts will be too short. Has anyone run into this before and how did it work out? I can cheat some threads from the front bolt but am unsure if there is anything I can do about the back bolt.

Thanks, vwmerckx, I've got 50mm studs ordered as well as a bag of nuts so should be ready when the spacer arrives.
