For the moderators:

Searched but no luck.

If I have a topic that applies across two forums can I ask it in both?

If not what is the best way to find answers across forums?

I attempted this in the past and have been reprimanded and want to do the right thing.

( owning a '54 with a 12v 1600 engine this has come up more than once)

Thanks,

Mark.

DON'T post the same message in multiple forums

If the topic pertains to everything other than the engine, then post it in the 54 forum. If the engine then wither the 68 and up or Performance forum.

If you're asking why your 34PICT-3 has a flat spot, asking in a forum where the default engine is a 36hp, you might not get enough answers.

Yes, what Glenn stated.

Also: Asking across multiple Forums often just splits up the answers or creates duplicate answers or confusion.

If it really covers more than one topic, you could post it in one, and post a link to it in the other, with an instruction to please answer in the other forum.

The idea is not just to get you more/better answers, but someone else searching for a similar problem is therefore more likely to find a relevant link.

Thanks KTPhil for a mature answer that demonstrates good manners and makes a lot more sense than:

"DON'T post the same message in multiple forums"

Much appreciated.

If it really makes sense to post in 2 areas and direct people to the other thread, I will lock one of them if I see it so people can't post at all in one of the threads.
You could also report the "duplicate" and ask it to be locked by me (Reports go to me, the Admin)

Reviewing what was posted above:
If you are asking something about a 1600cc engine though I'd post in the Engines Forum over any Vehicle category... unless there is something specific to a 1954 with a 1600.

Examples off the top of my head:
Tips needed to get it to fit in there or get it installed as I know the clearance for a 1600 can be tricky.
Or you need to modify the rear engine tin to get a good seal
Or various other things specific to that combination that would not be exactly 1600cc engine related and the best answers would probably occur in the Engines Forum over the Oval area
