Yellow 356C Cabrio, TV show "Emergency!" season 4 episode 9 "Foreign Trade" (1974). Los Angeles County Fire Department Station 51 paramedic John Gage (Randolph Mantooth) realizes he wants to have a flashier car, so asks his colleague Roy DeSoto (Kevin Tighe) to trade his Land Rover for Roy's 356.
Sorry for the partial black screen borders- I neglected to stretch the lower section of the photos using Photoshop's image distort function to bring them out of the frame. That work is one of my regular enhancements when taking shots right off the TV with my digi camera. |

Movie "Thunder Alley" (1967). The red/white/blue car is a 1967 Dodge Charger customized by George Barris, driven by the main character Tommy Callahan (Fabian).
356B Karmann, ending scene in movie "American Graffiti" (1973).
356B Coupe, TV show "Mission:Impossible" S2E19 "The condemned" (1968). The IM Force team rig the Porsche with remote controls for steering shift and throttle. This shot is from the opening credits "lit fuse" sequence as it is driven off the road with Barney Collier at the remote control. |

Ivory Porsche 356C Coupe parked, movie "Bullitt" (1968). Seen from the Mustang driven by Det. Frank Bullitt (Steve McQueen). The black '68 Dodge Charger that he's chasing is making a hard left turn, part of the iconic chase filmed in San Francisco, California.
Movie "Visions of Death" (1972).
Red 356B Coupe parked across the street, movie "Good neighbor Sam" (1964). Takes place in San Francisco, CA. |

356B Coupe, TV show "Honey West" S1E3 "The abominable snowman" (1965). Private detective Honey (actress Anne Francis) follows a suspect at the Griffith Park Observatory in Los Angeles who is driving the Porsche.
Honey is in her white Shelby Cobra 289.
As the 356 speeds along the winding roads, the driver breaks through a road barrier and crashes over the side of the road.
As Honey stops and runs down to him, the smashed 356 behind her is a pre-A with the 16" rims... |

2 356 speedsters and a 550 Spyder in a race at Southern California's Paramount Ranch track. It was located between Agoura Hills and Malibu in the Santa Monica Mountains. The track remnants still exist, and can be walked on the site of Paramount Ranch National Park.

1954 movie "Drive a Crooked Road" starring Mickey Rooney. The pre-A 356 Porsche Cabrio is driven into the "International Motors" dealer. IMDB lists the location as North Orange Drive and Hollywood Blvd, Hollywood, California. The rectangular taillamps together with the split 2-piece windshield date the car as a '50 or '51, since the bent single-pane windshield started with the '52, and twin "beehive" taillamps with the '53.

More from the movie "Bullitt" (1968). Detective Frank Bullitt's girlfriend Cathy (Jacqueline Bissett) drives a 356C Cabrio, giving Bullitt rides for his work after he heavily damages his dark green Mustang Fastback at the end of the tremendous car chase with the black Dodge Charger. Fish gallery photos-
Earlier in the movie, the 2 hitmen in the black Charger are following Bullitt through San Francisco as he traces Johnny Ross' last movements via the taxi. EvilClown gallery-

Silver Porsche 356 Speedster from "Harper" (1966). Driven by main character Lew Harper (Paul Newman). IMCDB lists it as a '55. In the composite's upper shot he's driving the 356 to the Moon Fire Temple in Malibu, California. In the lower shot, he's accompanied by pretty Miranda Sampson (Pamela Tiffin).
Pre-A 356 Coupe at the Carrera Panamericana in Mexico, 1954. YouTube documentary "The fifth Mexican road race...". I could not find any period photos of either of the two 356 entered in that race which had the red color.

These could all appear in the thread for "Vintage 356 Photos"... And going through that entire thread, I see that some are indeed already there- thanks, Runkle; though the ones below I picked out from other sites.

From a YouTube video* of the 1956 Alpine Rallye (aka Rallye international des Alpes). The #332 Porsche Carrera Coupe was entered by the American (!) team of Chuck Rickert and Dave Kriplen. The first shot is at the summit of the incredible Stelvio Pass in Italy (aka Stilfser Joch in German).
I don't know if this is the same car, but it's passing a Jaguar XK-1xx (120?).

Red 356 Coupe in right background, movie "What's up, Doc?" (1972). Actor Sorrell Booke is driving the early 1950's Cadillac at the start of the great car chase segment filmed in San Francisco, California. Mr. Booke is well known as character Boss Hogg in the early 1980's TV show "The Dukes of Hazzard".
Ivory 356B Coupe across the street, same movie. Main characters Howard Bannister and Judy Maxwell (Ryan O'Neal, Barbara Streisand) are on the delivery bike. |

Blue-silver 356 Coupe in background, TV show "Police Story" season 3 (1975). Is the taillight the rectangular shape from the early 50's, before the quad "beehives" were started?
Composite photo of black 356 Coupe driving past in background, TV show "Police woman" S1E19 episode "The company" (1975). Main characters in the front seat are Sgt. Pepper Anderson (Angie Dickinson) and Sgt Bill Crowley (Earl Holliman).

Turquoise 356A Coupe driven by Richard Hammond, documentary "Richard Hammond's Big! Austria's Mega Dam" season 1 episode 3, 2020. This is the Koelnbrein Dam, located in the Malta valley (Maltatal) northwest of the village of Gmuend. Yes, that Gmuend, where the first ca. 50 356 were built in the late 1940's. I've seen new Porsches with a similar "S-GO" license plate in recent press photos, so this one might be a factory museum/heritage car with the "H" (historic) registration.

All screen shots are from the 1958 Coupe des Alpes (aka Alpine Rally). The Speedster Carrera (!) was driven by the French team Storez & Chavy which unfortunately did not finish. The 1958 route went from Marseilles France on the Mediterranean eastward to Brescia Italy, back into France via Megeve, then Gap, and ended in Marseilles. ~ 2400 miles in 72 hours with only 3 breaks!
Fine shot showing the narrowness (1 lane) of some of those mountain pass public roads used in the race route. And the precarious "safety barriers". |

Black Porsche 356 Coupe, movie "Johnny Dark" (1954). First seen on the race course,
then shortly later, possibly the same car parked. The silver car on the left is a Mercedes-Benz 300S Cabriolet.

From the same movie, a silver Porsche 356 Coupe in starting grid of the Monterey Grand Prix car race, Laguna Seca circuit in California.
Silver Porsche 356B Coupe parked, TV show "Batman" episode "The yegg foes in Gotham" S2E14 (1966). 20th Century Fox studio lot, Los Angeles, California.
