Where is the in tank fuel screen located and how difficult is it to inspect & replace ?
My stock engine is sputtering only on low end acceleration and my guess it that it is not getting enough fuel. If I floor the pedal the burps stop and once Im cruising at a steady speed it runs great.

It covers the pickup tube. You can remove the sender and might be able to see it with a flashlight... if the tank is empty.

Glenn- what is the best way to drain the fuel. I was just thinking with the sender out....just syphon it out from that hole, then I can pull the tank to access the filter screen. I also have an inline plastic filter under the tank but my hands are not small enough to get at it.....it may have been there for many years by the looks of it .

thanks

You need to remove the outlet at the bottom, so disconnect the hose at the bottom to drain. Then you have to get to the fitting, you might have to remove the tank. This is a good opportunity to replace the old hoses.
