Volksworld 2024 - traffic warning

If any of you are travelling to the Volksworld show at Sandown Racecourse, (Esher, UK) by road over this weekend (16th and 17th March), be prepared for a traffic nightmare.

The M25 will be closed at between junctions 10 & 11 (Guildford and Chertsey) from 9pm tonight (15th) until 6am on Monday (18th) for a bridge demolition. It's part of works to try to fix a traffic pinch point.

That closure will mean that anyone going east to west or west to east around the southern edge of London will need to use alternative routes, most of which are local roads, and Sandown sits on one of those.

Traffic is always a nightmare around Sandown on event days (it's bad enough on a non-event day). Add a significant chunk of traffic diverted off the M25 and I'd expect it to be awful.
