I wanna know who Dusty is going to that concert to really see.
Rob Z. or TayTay? |
I wanna be in the room when Taylor Swift lets her Inner Freak off its leash. I likely won't be there, I more than likely couldn't afford the ticket but I would pay good money to see that.
Every "big show" I've gone to lately has been a let- down. I think we're gettin' swindled and pimped. We're gettin' tricked by business.
Zombie is no better than the thrash bands I saw at CBGB.
The small venue experience is so much better than the large venue experience.
I saw John 5 when he made the rounds a few years ago. There were less people in the audience than R.Z. has on his crew. It was an inexpensive ticket and Mr. 5 kicked ass. All upside, no downside.
John won't be playing with R.Z. this tour near as I can, another reason I could easily skip it.
Years ago we could count on one surly @$$H01E devoid of all reason per ten normal human beings in a really bad crowd. These days it's a verifiable 42% of nearly any crowd who are angry people devoid of any and all reason. Do I wanna party with those people? I don't think so.

I think the craziest good time I ever had was Trouble, White Zombie and Pantera at Roseland, NYC.
I met Rob Zombie, twice. Showed him my White Zombie tattoo. I’m thinking of covering it, since it was a $50 job and hasn’t aged well. _________________ 1973 standard, yellow, lowered, 3” narrowed front, 1600 blo-thru turbo w/single dell 15.4@86, so far

Just saw the Pixies in Phoenix a couple weeks ago. They still sound pretty good even without Kim Deal and most of them over 60. _________________ '69 Beetle (pieces)

The wife and I saw Sting in Phoenix a month ago. He's in his 70's now and in amazing shape. Great concert. _________________ Contact me at [email protected]

Last week near Nashville. Here is Bob Dylan on Keyboards. He has had a reputation for disappointing performances the last decade by many fans. I really enjoyed his performance here.
Good to see Sting and the Pixies holding up. _________________ Keep on Busin'

Saw him years ago with John Cougar Menstrual Cramps. My expectations were flip-flopped. Dylan was not great, but John was fantastic.
I'm going to see DEVO in a few weeks. I saw them last year and it was one of my favorite shows, ever. You imagine DEVO is going to be 90% synth and autotune and whatnot, but they were raw and hard as nails. I've been to punk rock shows that were more tame. |

In 96-ish, we saw Soundgarden, then DEVO, then Metallica at the Gorge at Lollapalooza. I'd definitely see DEVO again, they were a lot of fun. _________________ Confusious say it takes it takes two wipes to know you need three, but it takes three wipes to know it only needed two. |

Any favorite venues or recommendations? Peter Hook, Jack White and The Pixies at my favorite Los Angeles spot, The Palladium. Black Flag, Bishop Briggs, Ozomatli and Gang of Four and my local spot Pappy and Harriet’s. Anyone planning on spending some time in Joshua Tree should check Pappy’s to see who’s playing. |

Upcoming shows: Hayes Carll, Richard Thompson and... gotta check our tickets.
I probably mentioned it in the moment,
We did Pierogi Fest in Wilkes Barre and saw Robin Trower at Penn's Peak that night. A perfect day followed by a perfect evening.
Trower was there before many who aren't any more. He's still there.
Trower can leave his guitar on its stand and kick Clapton's ass on "guitar face" alone.
Just to make a weekend of it we saw Steve Earle and Jorma Kaukonen.
Trower was clearly the head and shoulders high point of the weekend.
If I was going to a big ticket show I would see Pink. Pink has the best stagecraft in the business.
If I were Pink's motocrosser boyfriend I'd give up motocross before I was too busted up to enjoy Pink.
