Is there any info on the fitment of different steering dampers? I bought one that was supposed to fit like this one https://www.heritagepartscentre.com/au/113425021a-steering-damper-for-beam-axle.html but it’s too fat.

I think this one should work based on the picture of my original one attached.

What year model? It helps.

Remember that most pre 68 beetles (59-1967) were made in Australia and not necessarily the same as those available in Europe or North America.

Just going back through my records the second one (Boge - OEM) is what I bought also from Heritage.

The original photo looks identical to the one installed (from new) in my 1968.

Thanks. Yeah, The ones from Mick Motors are the same chunkier ones. I’ll order the one from heritage and hopefully it fits.
