The wiring harness for a single carb is just a few wires and easy enough to build. You need power to the coil (which should still be there) and then power to the fuel pump and coil heater, which are best done with a FI relay with a built in timer to cut power if the engine isn't running. I just use a low pressure (<4psi) Airtex marine pump while many use low pressure rotary pumps.

If you find you need to rejet the carb to get it to run well, I would start by disabling the power valve as that can make the carb and engine vacuum signal match better.

It can take a bit of work to get a progressive carb to work well on these engines as there is no manifold heat or preheated intake air for the carb. You should just keep a lookout for a decent looking fuel injection including the fuel pump.

I’ve never seen an air cleaner like that in a bus.

It's not as good of a choice as one with a inlet horn as the horn makes it easier to feed warm air into the carb. Do know how the one shown fits onto the progressive carb either.

Thanks for your input. I just set the air filter on there more or less just to keep things from going into the carburetor. I’m not sure what kind of air filter should be on there. I guess my big question is hooking up the alternator with a voltage regulator a good wiring diagram would be helpful thanks for your help

That center section should be turned around so the brake booster hose faces front ie: towards the flywheel. Also see if you can get some cooling flaps from busted bus or one of the other scrappers.
A Bentley Manual will have all the wiring diagrams you need and shows cooling flaps and associated parts.

Ask the the used parts seller about a carb style breather box cap too, that FI one won't work.

Not sure what you are trying to do, but you can find wiring diaphragm in the Technical section at the top right of any Samba page.

This was my solution, but it took some work to make the adaption. The setup has been somewhat modified since the picture were taken to improve its function.
