Since I have been asked and am also unsure myself, here is a question for everyone
Are the vertical pillars and supports connected to the inner rocker (welded) or is the connection to the floor panel sufficient? Shorter and not welded would be better because of water?
Depending on the supplier, they are sometimes longer or shorter

Does anyone have a photo of the original?

No one has any information on this. I would be really interested to know if they were welded at the bottom

No, the upright supports and inner rocker are not connected. The outer panel and floor will tie them together, but they are not directly connected.

Looks good!

No welds there what i believe when i take my 67 apart.

If you want to hold the pillars in place and have a good feeling with it you can tack them to the rocker in the lower area with some spots, maybe that's easier to continue the work on the outer panel.
