hello every one
is it ok to use the car without the oil bath air cleaner ??
i just fixed that carburetor it was chocking after i ran out of fuel and got some residues from the fuel tank i guess into the carb , and the mechanic said also the oil bath air cleaner needs maintenance , and it has some clogging that makes the engine choke
i have to get to work in a nearby town , and i will be out for around 3 days
and he said it is ok to use the car for 2-3 days without it
will it affect the engine or makes a damage ?? |

So run the engine with no aircleaner?
You can, but I wouldn't run it for long. Any debris that gets sucked into the carb can cause more wear on the cylinders/pistons.
South Sinai as in Egypt? If there's a lot of sand in the air, try to limit the use without an aircleaner. _________________ Glenn

Typically the oil bath air cleaner does not "clog" like the more common paper air filter. The top half can be scraped clear of debris at its lower surface, and the bottom half can be drained, cleaned, and refilled. The whole process should take no more than 30 minutes.

Good luck!
I'd love to see pics of your car and its location! Seems exotic to most of us. Bugs took over the world, nice to see evidence! _________________ Current Fleet:

Sandy location, dusty location, unpaved roads, NO, you MUST run an aircleaner. dirt will clog the carburetor, dirt will enter the engine, ruin the cylinders, piston and rings, get past the rings and enter the oil and destroy the bearings,
You NEED that filter.
these filters rarely ever clog, they can become less effected at filtering when not serviced, but really dont clog as the paper element types do.
Now if your in a non dusty place, driving on clean pavement, no sand yes you can be ok to run a little bit with no filter, but if your in a dry desert where grit become airborne, if your on dirt roads, no, you need a filter.
These engines consume about 1.5 liters of air every two revolutions, if you ruin them at 3000 rpm, that is 1500x1.5= 2250 liters of air going through the engine every minute. (assuming a 1500 cc motor). Run for an hour and you have pumped in 135000 liters of air through the motor. how much dirt will be in 135000 liters of air? It maybe a huge amount of dirt if you drive on a dirt road, or drive by a farm being plowed, or in a dust storm. That is 135 cubic meters! _________________ Give peace a chance.
