You have several options at your disposal. Prep the surface accordingly and:
- Spray the areas with black bedliner
- Spray the areas with tinted bedliner to match the color of your car
- Spray the areas with MS Silver and 3 coats of AG111
- Spray the areas with 3-4 coats of high-quality epoxy
- Spray the areas with Wurth High Build Under Seal (Similar to, if not the actual, VW OEM protection)

These options will all provide adequate protection for the areas in question.
- The bedliner products will be tougher and well-suited for the wheel wells.
--- Some people are skeptical of bedliners because they can be used to hide substandard repairs. This can be an issue at sale time.
- The MSS/AG11 combo and epoxy will offer plenty of protection and conform easily to your color scheme.
--- Fully cured epoxy is chip and chemical resistant while remaining flexible.
--- The MSS/AG111 combo is chip and chemical resistant but not as flexible as epoxy.
--- Epoxy and AG111 are easier to touch up if they experience damage.
- I don't know much about the Wurth product but I have heard good things about it.
