I’m new to the site, and I’m finding features missing that I’m used to from other forums:
- When I “follow” a thread I can get email notifications, but there’s no notification when On the site interface?
- When I return to a thread I’d previously been reading, it takes me to page 1, post 1, rather than where I left off. No option to “go to first unread”?
- The site doesn’t scale well on my (Android) phone.
Am I missing these options, or has anyone found workarounds? |

This site is a highly customized version of software from years ago. It's more than a forum, it integrates a free classified section along with a gallery.
Yes, commercially available forum software do have the features you mentioned, but they are not the largest VW community which is TheSamba.
Wait for Everett, the site owner, to comment.

1. Yes, there are no notification "alerts" on the site itself.
You can see your Watched Topics though from the "Watched Topics" menu item under the "Forums" dropdown menu
2. Click on the green icon next to the thread instead of the thread name - This will take you to the newest unread post for your account. You have to be logged in so the site knows it's you.
3. I agree, it's a bit wacky on phones for a lot of the site
