Interesting taillight assemblies: I've never seen those painted taillight bezels on late lamps (same style as earlies).

As I recall they were an afterthought/quick fix to adapt the large tail lights to early style fenders. Not sure which markets got them at the time.

South Africa and possibly Nigeria. They also carried over the five-lug wheels and early headlights for a real mixed bag.

That's funny, someone was selling "Arthur Fiedler's" beetle on the Boston area craigslist a year or two ago. Low miles and very clean if I remember. I wish I had taken a screenshot of the listing.

How times have changed. Not much exotic metal in there. A couple of MK2 Cortinas, a Maxi, and a Beetle is a far cry from what's no doubt parked in there today.
