Hi All
Everyone has been a great help for me with my 70 bug, hopefully someone here has some knowledge that can help with my 2014 Passat.
Last weekend my right (passenger) low beam went out, I replaced the bulb and that didn't fix it. I took the old bulb to work and but it on a bench and powered it up and it worked just fine. I had planned to take a multimeter out to me car this morning and check the connection this morning and last light the drivers side low beam went out. I pulled the bulb out and checked it out with a magnifying glass and it looks just fine( tested head light bulbs for a living in previous career at Osram Sylvania so I know what to look for. Has anyone else experienced this? Does anyone know the solution?
Thanks in Advance for any help or wisdom
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays

The twist connector (the bulb socket) can sometimes fail, the metal prongs may pull away (inward).
The same thing happened in our 2015 Golf. It turned that an aftermarket bulb socket (the part that twists) had been installed. I found an OEM one at an auto wrecker last year and the problem went away. _________________ 1971 Super Beetle (past)

Just in case, have you tried recycling the ignition switch after you replaced the bulb? Whatever witchery VW designed into the electronics of these POSs will not send a signal back to the bad circuit until the ignition has been shut off & turned back on.
The fuse panel in the engine bay is a known cause for this, they overheat internally & break connection. Remove the panel (disconnect the wires at the bottom & loosen the 6mm bolt in the center of the panel) & look for melted plastic around one of the pins, it will be barely visible around one of the smaller pins. _________________ Everybody born before 1975 has a story, good, bad, or indifferent, about a VW.
